Earth observation is changing at a pace the field hasn't seen before. Artificial Intelligence is reshaping how satellite data gets analyzed, new sensors are producing imagery at a scale that would have been unthinkable a decade ago, and the range of questions Earth Observation can answer keeps expanding. The IEEE GRSS SYP Summit is where early-career researchers and engineers working at that frontier come together, to hear from leading scientists, present their own work, and build the professional connections that will define the next decade of the field. In 2026, the summit comes to Naples. Two days of talks and research in one of the most vibrant cities in Europe.
Invited talks from leading scientists across Earth Observation disciplines. Two days of presentations designed to push your thinking, not just recap what you already know.
Meet early-career researchers and students working on the same problems you are. The people you meet here may become collaborators, co-authors, and colleagues for years.
AI is changing what's possible in Earth observation faster than most textbooks can track. The summit covers where the field is heading, not just where it's been.
Presentations showing how remote sensing technologies are being applied to real environmental challenges, by the researchers doing the applying.
Structured mentoring sessions with researchers and professionals from academia, industry, and research labs. Real conversations about career paths: not a panel you watch, one you're part of.
